Zuhair Murad Pre Fall 2014

Besides the fact that Zuhair Murad is Lebanese and I like to support Lebanese designers, Murad has a particular way to highlight women, that I admire. He made a lot of amazing collections lately, but I specifically loved the Pre Fall 2014 collection; it's simple, classy and luxurious. In this collection, whether the model is wearing a long dress, a short dress or a tuxedo, she stays chic and glamorous. You can feel that every piece is finely worked and skillfully crafted, to emphasize the woman's body. The dresses has a lot of see-through, it's like the fabric was replacing the skin; it's done in a so beautiful way! The palette of colors is very vast, we see a lot of black, silver, red, blue... The collection is very sensual and fresh, perfect for a red carpet event!

 



5 days in Barcelona

I have to admit, Barcelona really surprised me! It's a very beautiful city that reminds me a lot London, for the street style and the vintage shops; and Paris, for the delicious gourmandises and the big boutiques. Shopping there is amazing; besides the famous Spanish shops like Zara, there is a lot of unknown small shops where you can find a lot of stylish items. You also have the thrift shops, that I find very interesting for some vintage pieces; so I think it's normal to find stylish people everywhere; believe me, every style is unique. About the food, you have of course the famous delicious paella, and mainly sea food; but what surprised me the most is the sweets! In fact, everywhere you go, there is always small shops on the road that sells all kind of gourmandises like nougat, chocolate truffles, ice cream, chocolate fruits... There is also interesting markets that sells all kind of food like fish, fruits, juices, sweets... (I went to one named St Josep, La Boqueria). And of course, if you go to Barcelona, you can't miss the famous Spanish ham, it's a big tradition there. New York fashion week, zoom on REEM ACRA

Yesterday's fall 2014 show was definitely one of my favorite Reem Acra ready-to-wear! The collection is the definition of sensitivity and glamour. The designer managed to put women in value; she didn't show us just beautiful dresses, but beautiful women, powerful and confident, who blew us away by their elegance and class. Notice, the hairstyle and makeup are very simple and natural, and we can say that the collection is kind of simple too. The designer worked mainly on the materials and the shape; no crazy touch, but definitely chic and unique touch. Acra proved once again that fashion and style can meet perfectly, without trying very hard and exaggerate. I love the palette of colors chosen, the golden velvet, and that captivating silver give a luxurious and royal touch.

NY fashion week, day 4

The forth day of New York fashion week 2014 starts quiet late (around 11AM) with Lela Rose; followed by David Tlale, DKNY, Czar by Cesar Galindo, Katya Zol, Custo Barcelona, Parkchoonmoo, Diane Furstenberg, Brian Lichtenberg, Vivienne Tam, Georgine and Meskita.

Topshop teams up with Adidas Originals

Style finally collaborates with sport; Topshop has teamed up with Adidas Originals for a feminine 20-piece collection called Topshop X Adidas Original.

The collection comprises slim-fitting joggings, large cotton tops and sweaters with the Adidas logo on it, and special sneakers reworked with new leather and print combination. Even if you're not a big fan of sport, the collection is stylish, feminine and casual. We still don't have access to the rest of the collection's images, but as Topshop's creative director said, the collection is not only sporty, it's fashionable.

The collection will be available on March 20 in Topshop UK, and online. Prices start at 35$ and run trough to 135$ for the sneakers.

 

NY fashion week, schedule day 2

The second day of New York fashion week is also perfectly organized, with amazing designers from all over the world. ZimmerMann will inaugurate day 2 with her 2014 f/w collection; then we will also have Rebecca Vallance, Pedro Del Hierro, Trina Turk, Nautica, Rebecca Minkoff, Hache, Lee Jean Youn, Nicole Miller, Charlotte Ronson, Memerson by Jackie Fraser-Swan and the Academy of Art University.
By the way, London fashion week will be from February 13 to 18, Milan is the next one to share its fashion from February 17 to 23, and then finally in Paris from February 24 to March 5.

New York fashion week 2014 schedule, day 1

Here we go again, tomorrow is the first day of New York fashion week; can't wait to discover the fall 2014 collections. Nicholas K is going to be the first one to show us his fashion, there is also BCBGMAXAZRIA, Raoul, Richard Chai, Creatures Of The Wind, Jay Godfrey, Tadashi Shoji, Desigual, Tome, Marissa Webb, Todd Snyder, Mark And Estel.

 

 

 

We are going to have an amazing 'fashionable' time till February 28 with the London, Paris and Milan fashion weeks also!
