Emmys Beauties

This year the red carpet welcomed glamour in color for the Emmys awards. Red was surprisingly the new black and most seen color of the night. Celebrities seemed to be very comfortable and relaxed in sophisticated gowns. I loved the diversity of materials and textures like tulle, silk and even velvet. Personally, I don't think there were fashion disasters this time, the stars were all tasteful and chic. My favorite look was Allison Williams' in Giambattista Valli, her fancy princess gown was stunning and I love the mix of old and modern fashion it's like a "modern vintage" piece. Julia Roberts was also breath-taking on the red carpet, her dynamic and positive attitude embellished her Elie Saab dress; she was really the confirmation of "Happy girls are the prettiest".
Here are most of the Emmys looks, enjoy, criticize and don't forget to share your opinion.

Jean Paul Gaultier x Lindex

Extravagance meets simplicity. French designer Jean Paul Gaultier is collaborating with Lindex to fight against breast cancer, and partly to celebrate the Nordic brand's 60th birthday. This time it's "pleasure" without "guilty" because 10% of proceeds is going to charity. The fall collection includes womenswear, kidswear, lingerie and accessories that of course reflect both styles. Gaultier added his personal fancy touch through sailor stripes, black leather pieces, zip-up items and tattoo motifs.

"It's a wonderful and fun experience to create a collection that interprets my codes for Lindex while taking part in the fight against breast cancer," says Gaultier. "I believe we've found a great mix of these elements and the collection is bold, chic and strong like Lindex woman."

The collection will be available in selected stores on October 8.

Exclusive: Fall/winter 2014-15 trends

I think it is time to ask ourselves this crucial question: what are this season's trends? While the fashion creators are already setting next summer's trends, we (as fans and fashion victims) have to stay updated on this season and start fixing our winter closet. I did some vogue and runway research to find out this season's hits and as usual, it's super stylish and glamorous; but if I can summarize the whole season in only one word, it would be sixties! You'll feel throughout all the trends the little 60's touch.

Textiles:
For fall/winter 2014-15, wool is one of the most important textile, and this time, it is not only used as jackets or sweaters, but as dresses and overalls! Wool was extremely seen on famous runways and in big trendy stores. This kind of textile is very practical especially against cold, and it gives a cozy and comfortable look. Wool is perfect for a casual stylish day but watch out, it's better not to use it for formal events (it's more pajama look than dressy).

Fashion creators has also taken fur to a whole new level. This season classic fur are replaced by fancy eccentric fur; so no more excuses ladies, it's time to get out the colorful and stylish furs! Designers has placed their whole imagination and creativity on fur coats as masterpieces of the runways; and they definitely took our breath away.

Still in the eccentric spirit, dark bird plumes are very trendy this season. Some designers has even made the models look like birds, McQueen for example didn't hesitate to compose full outfits in plumes. I think feather coats aren't a bad idea for winter, you can wear them for casual and dressy events. They are classy, glamorous and luxurious with a touch of style.

Velvet was already a bit trendy last season, but this time it's back better than ever. Huge labels like Chanel has shown full velvet outfits on their runways. The cool part of this textile is that you can wear it two different ways: velvet can look very cozy and relaxed (the pajama look), but it can also look very sensual, sexy and feminine. It depends on how you wear it and how you accessorize it, but anyway both ways are trendy this season.

Another sixties sensation, silk used mainly as dresses and skirts, but also now as overalls. This kind of textile is more seen on spring/summer runways, but fashion creators like to surprise, especially that "the style of the season" is sixties.

Colors:
I think it's a bit expected especially after the Balmain winter collection, khaki is sensational this season. It's not a difficult color to match, you can wear it with anything (white, black, red, green...). I would suggest a khaki leather item maybe because I was influenced by Rihanna's outfit on Paris fashion week (on the Balmain show).

A bit more difficult to wear, gold is also a hit color this winter. Don't hesitate to wear gold coats or jackets, it's really an amazing color. I would suggest to match it with black only it's safer because with colors it might be too much.

Saint Laurent

Emilio Pucci

Patterns:
An all-season classic, leopard is a designer's best friend. I can't imagine women without leopard, it's vital in the world of fashion. Nothing new, the pattern is used for any item from coats to shoes and bags.

Graphics and geometrics are trendy too, but more as "trompe l'oiel" effect. Mainly black and white, huge labels blew us away with their piece of art. I find that effect extremely stylish, chic and very interesting because it reminds summer trends (art and colors) but in a darker and "colder" way.

Not fare from the sixties, seventies prints are back on the runways and especially on Tommy Hilfiger's. I personally love seventies prints on wool sweaters and jackets, to me it's a winter must-have that you can wear at anytime casually. It's definitely the "chill mode" with a cup of hot tea in front of a fireplace. You can match them with mini skirts or high-waisted pants to keep the vintage aspect.

Models:
The season is getting masculine with the return of the suits. If you want to rock your winter brogues you with what to match them. Suits are the best to give a classy and sophisticated look of powerful women.

Almost a must-have, capes are sensational this season. I think it's one of the most stylish item in winter, very feminine and chic. Gray or beige are perfect for capes, or pale colors like pale pink or blue. I already saw them in many stores and especially Zara. Watch out, capes are not practical during big colds, it's more a fall item than winter.

Chloe

Ralph Laurent

Tommy Hilfiger

Of course sixties style in general is a big hit this season. Mini skirts, pale dresses, colorful prints, leather and everything related to the 60's (already mentioned like velvet, silk...) are super trendy.

Oversized coats had been trendy for many years now bit the hit is not over yet. I feel the world "oversized" is essential in winter, it always gives a touch of cozy style. And with the coats you can really play with the size and get an extremely large one.
