Designers' Week

Once again like every year, Designers' Week give the opportunity for local designers to expose their creations to the public. And what better place than Zaitunay Bay to install the little white tents and celebrate! Beirut Designers' Week started May 27 and will end today just before the beginning of Design Week. The stands are disposed in all Zaitunay Bay from the Yacht club all along until the last restaurants.

The best hours to visit the stands are between 6pm and 8pm when sunset takes place and the weather is cooler. The exposition includes mainly accessories from head pieces to bracelets, necklaces and rings. You can also find summer clothing like printed tops or colorful shorts. And for those interested in home accessories, some stands sell cool items for the house.

And besides the small shops, Designers' Week collaborated this year with The Agenda Beirut for daily live workshops. They installed a small stage between the stands where bloggers and media professionals share their experiences and respond to the public's questions. Personally, I attended Roula Nahas and Nadia Mneimne's workshop and I found it very interesting especially when it came to the interaction with the people.

So if you need some summer shopping or have presents to offer, it's the place to be! Support Lebanese designers and encourage local creations! (Today is the last day).

Cherry on the rooftop

Despite yesterday's hot weather and raindrops, Lebanese social experts managed to create a nice atmosphere on Le Gray's rooftop, and I was lucky to be part of this event thanks to my friend Roula Nahas. The view from the 6th floor was eventually beautiful as we could see Beirut's port and business buildings including An-Nahar. I attended the event with my friend Tiffany Murr who is interested in music so I guess we formed a cool team of music and fashion.

But first let me take a selfie

Regarding my outfit, I wore a Helmut Lang skirt that I bought last year from Mykonos and a simple white top from Zara. I matched them with silver heels from Maria Pino and a silver purse Michael Kors. The total look was dressy and casual at the same time, perfect for a chic rooftop sunset!

And since the event was all about meeting people and socializing, that's what we did. At first it was a bit hard to socialize since Tiff and I didn’t know anyone. Progressively we started talking to some bloggers, PR professionals... I guess if a person really wants to succeed in media or any other domain, contacts and communication are the keys to future achievements. So we met some really cool bloggers, marketing and PR professionals.

Western bandanas in the club

After spotting them during New York fashion week, western bandanas became the new hit trend. I was surprised to see them in all kind of stores, from Zara to Tara Jarmon.
You can choose the classic or vintage models:

...or you can go for innovation with revisited western bandanas,

Personally, I prefer the modern revisited bandanas because they are more stylish and easier to wear and match. You can wear them with simple, fancy or formal clothes. The traditional western bandanas are a bit difficult because they are very casual and specific to a particular style.
There are so many ways to rock bandanas, you can wear them on the head or around your neck, but this season the real trend is to wear them the "cowboy way".

Grammys 2015

This year, the red carpet was really divided between fashion beauties and fashion catastrophes. I was really amazed by Taylor Swift and Rihanna's choices. They decided to wear daring colors and unique numbers. However personally I thought most stars had bad fashion moments. I don't usually play the 'fashionpolice' game but some looks were really unacceptable this year. Here are my favorite and worse gowns of the night.

Fashion beauties:

 Rihanna in Giambattista
Valli

 Taylor Swift in Elie Saab

Jessie J in Ralph & Russo

 Meghan Trainor in Galia Lahav

Kat Graham in Yanina

 Fashion catastrophes:

 CharliXCX in Moschino

 Ciara in Alexandre Vauthier

 Rita Ora

 Gina Rodriguez

 Zendaya in Vivienne Westwood

Madonna in Givenchy
